Abu Dhabi streamlines processes at Khalifa port

The collaboration is designed to provide increased efficiency, transparency and security.

Abu Dhabi Customs and Abu Dhabi Ports agreed to develop an effective framework that allows seamless entry and exit of empty containers at Khalifa Port.  The collaboration will provide increased efficiency, transparency and security.
The agreement was signed by Mubarak Matar Al Mansouri, ED, Customs Operations Sector, at Abu Dhabi Customs and Abdullah Humaid Al Hameli, EVP corporate support at Abu Dhabi Ports.

Al Mansouri said this collaboration aims to support the security of the UAE society.  At the same time, it also promotes economic growth whilst activating the shared interests between both entities.
This partnership will also improve the performance of operations, simplify procedures, improve services and maximize the return on investment.
Also, he said this partnership will ultimately contribute to making the UAE an attractive environment for investment and trade.  The procedures are economically feasible and assures cost and effort reduction.
Al Hameli said the integrated mechanism will establish a clear regulatory framework.  The framework will work towards simplifying trade and logistics procedures at Khalifa Port.
Abu Dhabi Ports is the master developer, operator and manager of commercial and community ports within the emirate.  Additionally, Abu Dhabi Ports also manages Fujairah Terminals and Khalifa Industrial Zone Abu Dhabi (KIZAD).
