The Asia Pacific Maritime (APM) Exhibition and Conference, a leading event in the maritime sector, is set to return for its 19th edition from March 25-27, 2026, at Marina Bay Sands in Singapore. Organized by RX, APM 2026 will focus on “Future of Vessels, Solutions for Tomorrow” and will showcase innovations and technologies essential for the energy transition in maritime shipping.
As the maritime industry responds to rigorous decarbonization targets, there is a pronounced shift toward energy-efficient solutions encompassing new vessel designs, fuel strategies, and operational efficiencies. Notably, Weichai, a prominent industrial name, expressed enthusiasm about its return for the tenth time, focusing on biodiesel technology and sea trials showcasing sustainable marine solutions.
One of the main highlights is the exploration of battery electrification, a critical avenue for immediate emissions reductions. Experts, including Jan-Erik Räsänen of Foreship, advocate for future-proof designs that incorporate flexibility in power plants, allowing for both traditional combustion engines and battery use. The event will also unveil an Electric & Hybrid Consultation Lounge, facilitating discussions on maritime battery systems, high-power charging, and zero-emission technologies.
Moreover, wind propulsion is making a comeback as a viable energy solution for decarbonizing deep-sea shipping. APM will present advancements in this area, with rising interest evidenced by the growing number of vessels equipped with wind propulsion systems.
