CMA CGM Foundation, Salvation Army to distribute 500,000 meals across U.S.

The CMA CGM Foundation has expanded its Giving Across North America initiative into a yearlong effort to provide essential food assistance and support to communities in the United States. Now in its fifth year, the campaign partners with The Salvation Army to distribute over 500,000 meals in five cities: Los Angeles, Houston, New York City, Norfolk, and Miami.

Building on the success of its 2023 edition, Giving Across North America will this time run through mid-2025 and will feature monthly food assistance programs, weekly food pantry services, and special holiday distributions. Approximately 160 to 200 volunteers from the CMA CGM Group participate to help distribute essential food aid and strengthen community resilience.

Giving Across North America was officially launched in November 2024 with Thanksgiving giveaways held at Salvation Army centers in the five cities. These events provided critical support to families in need, distributing 1,000 hot meals, 2,600 food staple packages, and over 2,600 turkeys and vouchers.

In total, the launch events reached an estimated 11,600 individuals in need. Over 150 staff members from across the CMA CGM Group — including American President Lines, CEVA Logistics, Fenix Marine Services, and Port Liberty — volunteered to ensure the success of these efforts.
