Dennis Tan is executive director for global and energy transition, at Surbana Jurong. He previously held various leadership positions at the Economic Development Board and JTC Corporation, both statutory boards under Singapore’s Ministry of Trade & Industry, spanning industry development, industrial parks management, and industrial transformation. Tan also worked five years in the private sector, as Executive Director (Asia) for ATB Austria Antriebstechnik GmbH.

At Surbana Jurong, Tan has been consulting on energy transition, industrial decarbonization, and industrial clusters planning and development. His clients include government bodies such as the Ministry of International Trade, Industry & Investment Sarawak, tech glomerate Aboitiz, international utilities companies such as Sembcorp Industries, oil majors such as China National Offshore Oil Corporation, low-carbon power and gas suppliers such as Union Energy Group, and economic zones such as Misurata Free Zone.

Tan holds a Master of Engineering degree from Imperial College London, and is a senior member of the Institution of Engineers Singapore.
