VSTEP has successfully delivered and installed a DNV Class A certified NAUTIS Full Mission Bridge Simulator at the Ho Chi Minh City Maritime Vocational College in Vietnam. This advanced simulator features a 270-degree field of view through projection, designed to enhance the training experience for maritime students. Complementing the simulator is a NAUTIS Instructor Station, which will aid instructors in facilitating effective training sessions.
The Maritime Vocational College, a recognized higher education institution in Ho Chi Minh City, plans to integrate the simulator into its curriculum for maritime courses. This addition aims to enrich students’ learning experiences and prepare them for careers in the seafaring industry.
To ensure that students gain familiarity with local maritime conditions, VSTEP has enriched the simulator’s extensive environment library by adding three specific environments. These newly recreated scenarios include the approaches to Ho Chi Minh City’s harbor as well as those of Hai Phong and Da Nang, all designed with great attention to detail. This customization allows students to practice and understand the unique navigation challenges they might face in Vietnamese waters.
Robin Lim, the Business Development Manager for VSTEP Asia Pacific, emphasized that the integration of these local environments will serve as an invaluable educational resource, propelling Ho Chi Minh Maritime students toward successful careers at sea. He also highlighted the fruitful collaboration with their Vietnamese partner, Tecotec, and expressed anticipation for ongoing cooperation in the future.
