Ina Alleco R. Silverio studied journalism and creative writing at the University of the Philippines. She worked as a chief of staff for seven years in the Philippine House of Representatives, focusing on human rights and social welfare concerns. She was also the media officer and spokesperson of a former secretary of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), as well as a writer for various alternative and mainstream media publications.
Ina has written and published two books — Ka Bel, the Life and Struggle of Crispin Beltran; and Louie Jalandoni: Revolutionary, an illustrated biography. She has won two national journalism awards for humanitarian reporting. She now works as a Social Transformation Manager in WeGen Energy PH, a social-good company that offers solar PV solutions for communities, businesses, and households.
