Jay Daniel Santiago serves as the general manager of the Philippine Ports Authority (PPA), having been reappointed to the position in October 2022 by President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.
Santiago previously held this role from July 2016 to June 30, 2022, during former president Rodrigo Duterte’s administration, where he championed the modernization and digitalization of the PPA.
Before his tenure at the PPA, Santiago was the general counsel for the Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corporation, specializing in gaming laws, regulations, and government bidding and procurement.
Prior to his public career, Santiago was a senior and managing partner at the law firm Feria Tantoco Robeniol Santiago, which specializes in corporate and commercial law. His expertise covers banking and finance, securities regulation, telecommunications and new technologies, tax, immigration, and general business advisory.
Santiago earned both a Bachelor of Arts degree in Humanities and a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of the Philippines.
With a background in law and public administration, Santiago brings a wealth of experience to his role, positioning him as a key figure in the maritime sector’s development in the Philippines.
