Kenlip Ong is the CEO of Pelagus 3D (a thyssenkrupp-Wilhelmsen joint vVenture). Formerly
Head of TechCentre (additive manufacturing) at thyssenkrupp, he has built up thyssenkrupp’s
capabilities to encompass diagnostic, design and development of components for industrial
application for a wide range of global customers.
Kenlip is an alumnus of the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Cluster (NAMIC) and
led industrial adoption and standards development. He oversaw the entry of NAMIC into global
standards organization ASTM and sat on the steering committee of ASTM International’s
Additive Manufacturing Global Centre of Excellence. Prior to that, he was head of additive
manufacturing at Singapore Technologies Engineering, pioneering the integration of 3D printing
into the company’s manufacturing strategy.
Kenlip has held engineering and production management roles in various Fortune 500
companies, having spent over a decade in the U.S., as well as regional roles in Asia. He received
his master’s degree in engineering from Northwestern University, and MBA from UCLA
Anderson School of Management.
