Major General Bambang Trisnohadi is Indonesia’s director general of Defense Strategy, at
the Ministry of Defense. He is responsible for formulating and implementing policies in
respond to developments in the global, regional and national strategic environment. The
president of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, appointed him to his current position on September
28, 2022. Before this appointment, Bambang was a high-ranking infantry officer serving in
the Indonesian Army.
In his military career, Bambang has served as the Expert Staff for Security, Inspector of the
Army Territorial Center, Chief of Staff for Regional Military Command XVII, and Commander
of Korem 121, among others. He was the best graduate of his 1993 class at the Military
Academy.
