Mark Hutchinson commenced with Fortescue Energy in July 2022 and became global CEO in August 2022, reporting directly to the executive chairman and Fortescue Board.

Mark’s focus as CEO is to drive growth in the green hydrogen and green technology business. He brings extensive business and leadership experience at a senior executive level, having held various roles at General Electric (GE) over a 25-year career, the two most recent as president and CEO for China and Europe. In these roles, he led the efforts to strengthen GE’s operations across China and Europe, developed and executed a shared growth strategy for all the GE businesses which helped to drive significant growth, year-on-year. He also led the integration of Alstom’s power and grid businesses into GE following its €12.35 billion acquisition.
