Mctc Ceo Is Named As One To Watch: Most Influential Leader In Maritime For 2025 As Company Secures Catering Management Of 1,300 Vessels

Leading maritime catering management company MCTC has reached the
milestone of securing 1,300 vessels under its supervision as CEO is
named as ‘Most Influential Leader in Maritime to Watch in 2025’.

This year the company achieved a significant milestone in securing the
catering management of over 1,300 vessels, confirming its leading
position in the health and wellbeing of crew member. This significant
growth now sees MCTC provide support, guidance and training to galley
crews across the vessels, transforming the health and wellbeing of
thousands of seafarers.

Group CEO at MCTC, Christian Ioannou said: “We are thrilled to
have reached this important achievement at MCTC. Crew wellbeing has
always been at the heart of what we do and we understand the important
role a varied and nutritious diet plays in the health and wellbeing of
seafarers. Through this strategic growth in partnerships, we are
transforming standards in the galley and improving the lives of
thousands of seafarers onboard.”

Mr Ioannou has been the forefront of transforming catering standards in
the industry through a holistic approach involving training, both
onboard and onshore, regular vessel visits, fitness and wellness
initiatives and the full spectrum of catering management support. MCTC
integrates nutrition science, mental health awareness, food safety, and
cultural sensitivity into its range its offering.

His commitment to increasing standards and ensuring the health of
seafarers has not gone unnoticed as CXO Outlook this month declared
him as the ‘Most Influential Leader in Maritime to Watch in 2025′.

“I am both honoured and humbled to receive this title. From when I
started my journey in the maritime industry after training as a young
Chef, I quickly identified a big gap in the market to provide support
and training for galley crews. Through raising standards in the kitchen,
we are ensuring and futureproofing the health of seafarers for years to
come,” said Mr Ioannou.

He believes in empowering his team, giving them ownership of their
roles, and reminding them of the bigger mission: supporting seafarers’
wellbeing through food. Creating a culture of respect, trust, and
continuous development has been central to building a motivated global
team at MCTC.

Having joined the maritime industry as a training supervisor and crewing
superintendent, trained chef Mr Ioannou began sending emails to cooks
onboard offering support with recipes and guidance. Through onboard
visits, he had noticed a lack of onshore support for galley crews
compared to other crewing departments.

Since launching in 2012, the company has now expanded its services to
cover supply chain operations and the smooth running of the galley, from
budget planning support to menu creation and full access to a wide
network of experts and nutrition with 24/7 support.

Looking ahead, MCTC’s strategic goals focus on expanding its global
footprint, investing in more advanced digital learning solutions, and
strengthening its position as a global leader in maritime catering and
training.”
