MOL wins accolade for promoting women’s advancement in workplace

Mitsui O.S.K. Lines (MOL) has received the highest rating of three stars from the Japanese Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare’s “Eruboshi Certification”, which recognizes companies for excellence in promoting the participation and advancement of women in the workplace.

The certification includes five evaluation items: recruitment, continued employment, workstyle, ratio of managerial positions, and diverse career paths for women, and MOL met all the criteria, earning the three-star certification.

Based on the MOL Group’s Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Basic Policy, which was revised in August 2023, the group implements support for balancing work with childcare, and nursing care, among others, according to each life stage, promotes plans to develop women managers as candidates for future managerial positions, and reduces working hours.

Furthermore, it has continued to promote various initiatives related to the promotion of women’s activities, such as support for improving the onboard work environment for women seafarers, and holding dialogue events with other companies on International Women’s Day as designated by the United Nations.

As a result of its efforts, MOL has been selected for four consecutive years as a “Nadeshiko Brand”, under a joint initiative by Japan’s Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry (METI) and the Tokyo Stock Exchange (TES) for listed companies that excel in promoting women’s success in the workplace.

MOL Group will continue to create a workplace environment and corporate climate in which all employees can maximize their enthusiasm and vitality and combine their diverse personalities and abilities.
