Punj Lloyd has recently secured contracts amounting to Rs. 348 crore, emphasizing its growth in the pipelines and tankage sector. In a formal announcement, the company disclosed that it received Letters of Award from Adani, which pertain to the Engineering, Procurement, Construction, and Commissioning (EPCC) of refrigerated double-wall storage tanks and mounded bullets at its LPG Terminal located in Mundra.
Additionally, Punj Lloyd has been awarded a significant contract by the Mumbai Port Trust (MbPT) valued at Rs. 209 crore. This project focuses on the installation of offshore and onshore pipeline systems and terminal operations for the ‘Fifth Oil (J5) Berth’ at Jawahar Dweep within Mumbai Harbour.
The contract with Adani involves the design and detailed engineering of two refrigerated tanks, each with a capacity of 25,000 metric tons, alongside two mounded bullets, each holding 1,018 cubic meters. The comprehensive scope of this contract extends beyond just construction; it includes soil investigation, civil foundations, tank piping, and mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation installations. Furthermore, the work encompasses the implementation of fire protection systems, fabrication and erection processes, non-destructive testing (NDT), as well as testing, painting, and insulation of the tanks, concluding with nitrogen purging and commissioning activities.
Conversely, the pipeline project contracted by Mumbai Port Trust covers extensive operations for a 42-inch diameter pipeline with a wall thickness of 17.5 mm, including a 100 mm concrete weight coating. This aspect of the project comprises a 4-kilometer offshore pipeline along shallow waters and intertidal zones, which necessitates thorough pre-engineering and pre-construction surveys, procurement, and installations. The task also includes pipeline coating, trenching, and backfilling. Furthermore, the contract encompasses a 1.25-kilometer section for the onshore pipeline, along with additional components such as a pipeline manifold, scraper receiver and launcher, and sump tank. The project also necessitates extensive civil work and integration with existing facilities.
These contracts signify Punj Lloyd’s robust capabilities and commitment to enhancing infrastructure through the deployment of advanced engineering and construction solutions in the rapidly evolving energy and port sectors. Such collaborations highlight the company’s strategic partnerships and its role in fulfilling essential energy and logistical needs within the region.
