Remedios Lucio has been a journalist for over 10 years working in the local and international media landscape. Her love for writing translated into her forte doing human interest, sustainability and FMCG business news. She has covered the business, lifestyle, investigative, and political news beats. She is currently living in Manila, Philippines.
After graduating from The Manila Times School of Journalism, she began working at the oldest Philippines newspaper, The Manila Times, and at the media giant, ABS-CBN Publishing.
After honing her craft in the local industry, she moved to Malaysia to work at the Berjaya Group of Companies’ newspaper, The Sun Daily. Thereafter, she became a business news correspondent for Australia’s Catch & Wesfarmers Group’s publication, Octomedia.
Returning to work in her homeland, she led the media team for the presidential campaign of former mayor Isko Moreno Domagoso during the 2022 Philippine elections. Remedios also joined the broadcasting giant, CNN Philippines, as a writer and producer for several TV shows, primarily Med Talk Health Talk.
Remedios has her own brand, The HodgePodge Lifestyle, since 2010, which is a YouTube channel and a blog. Never in her wildest dreams, especially during the 2020 lockdown, did she foresee her blog to become a book series, The HodgePodge Lifestyle Chronicles.
Published by the Canadian book publisher, Ukiyoto Publishing, the three-part series: 10 Years After, Season is Changing, and Back to the Homeland, are sold worldwide on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, Walmart, etc.
Her first memoir, The HodgePodge Lifestyle Chronicles: 10 Years After, garnered an award, Woman Writer of the Year for Non-Fiction, and her blog was also a finalist in other award-giving bodies.
While working for the international organization, AIESEC, Remedios also taught English to the
under-served students and Fundacion Censa’s employees in Colombia.
