Tan Kah Han is CTO and senior director (Unmanned Systems Group) of the Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS). As a member of CAAS’ senior management team, his responsibilities include developing safety policy, the development of civil aviation, safety oversight and facilitating the use of unmanned aircraft systems and future aviation technologies in Singapore.
Kah Han joined CAAS in 2009 and was appointed as director (airworthiness/flight operations) in October 2010 and senior director (safety regulation) in January 2017, before assuming his latest appointment in September 2020. Prior to joining CAAS, Kah Han spent 25 years and held many senior appointments in the Republic of Singapore Air Force.
Kah Han is also a Singapore member in the ICAO Committee on Aviation Environment Protection and the ICAO Flight Ops Panel. He is a pilot and is rated in both Airbus A-320 and Boeing B737.
