ASRC Federal Secures $5 Billion DLA Maritime Acquisition Contract

ASRC Federal, through its subsidiary ASRC Federal Facilities Logistics, has been awarded a significant contract by the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) Maritime Mechanicsburg, positioning the company to compete for task orders under a new Maritime Acquisition Advancement Contract valued at up to $5 billion. This contract spans a five-year base period, with the potential for five additional one-year extensions.

The awarded contract enables ASRC Federal Facilities Logistics to enhance supply chain management, procurement, and delivery services specifically for the U.S. Navy. Their responsibilities will include vital functions like additive manufacturing, obsolescence management, and forecasting, which are essential for supporting the U.S. Naval Supply Weapon Systems Support’s needs for nuclear Virginia-class submarines and active surface ships. According to Chris Frye, President of ASRC Federal’s Supply Chain Management and Logistics operating group, enhancing supply chain capacity is vital for the U.S. Navy in achieving its goals related to the construction and support of these submarines and surface vessels, thus maintaining naval superiority.

The scope of work under this contract will focus on providing support services and sustainment solutions across ten different weapons systems, which are at various stages of their lifecycles. This includes support for several Navy operational assets like cruiser-destroyers, submarines, and both unmanned and surface combatants. By winning this contract, ASRC Federal aims to deliver crucial resources for the Navy’s latest class of nuclear-powered fast-attack submarines, thereby reducing administrative lead times and enhancing responsiveness to the operational needs of the warfighter.

Overall, this contract signifies a strategic opportunity for ASRC Federal to contribute to the U.S. Navy’s overarching goals while expanding its footprint in defense logistics and supply chain management.
