The 11th edition of Staff Talks between the Indian Navy and the Japan Maritime Self-Defence Force (JMSDF) took place in New Delhi, aiming to enhance maritime cooperation, interoperability, and a collaborative approach towards a free and open Indo-Pacific. During his visit, Motegi also co-chaired the 18th India-Japan Strategic Dialogue with Indian External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar.
In their dialogue, the ministers addressed various topics, including economic ties, maritime security, and multilateral cooperation, showcasing a broad spectrum of mutual interests. Jaishankar noted that the Special Strategic and Global Partnership between India and Japan is on an upward trajectory, which could significantly impact global order and reduce vulnerabilities in the international economy.
