The Bureau of Fire Protection is set to host Fire Expo Philippines 2024 in partnership with ExpoAsia Inc., taking place from July 17 to 19, 2024, at the World Trade Center in Pasay City. The event will commence each day at 8:00 AM, showcasing cutting-edge advancements in fire protection, suppression, rescue, and disaster mitigation.
Senator Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa will be the Guest of Honor, accompanied by Fire Director Louie S. Puracan, who serves as CEO VI and Chief of the Bureau of Fire Protection. The expo promises to feature a distinguished lineup of local and international speakers who will share insights on various fire and disaster management topics.
Prominent speakers include Inspector Yu Hung-Chi from Taiwan, who will discuss Taiwan’s Fire and Disaster Training Program, and Deputy Director Chien Wan-Yao, focused on the impact of a 7.5 Earthquake. DILG Secretary Atty. Benjamin Abalos will address the BIDA Disaster Assistance Program, while Assistant Commissioner Ryan Ong Yuan-Wei from Singapore will cover Maritime Fire and Rescue.
Other notable presentations feature Mr. Faheem Khan (Singapore) discussing 3D Fire Forensic Investigation, Dr. Florigo C. Varona (Philippines) on electrical system requirements for fire protection, and Ms. Lauren Richardson (USA) tackling CBRNE—Combating Cognitive and Kinetic Threats. Additionally, Mr. Chiranjiv Mukerji from India will address lithium battery fires, while Dr. Ted Esguerra and Dr. Bernadette Velasco from the Philippines will provide insights on Turkey earthquake response and EMS disease exposure, respectively.
The event also features contributions from Mr. Sylvain Brousseau from Canada on wildland firefighting, Mr. Winston Chang Wei Shen from Singapore, representing the UN, discussing INSARAG External Classification, and Mr. Thomas Laackmann from Germany, who will share knowledge on disaster prevention and humanitarian aid. Atty. Lesley Jeanne Y. Cordero will speak on regional cooperation for national disaster resilience.
