Role Responsibility and Requirements

 

Responsibilities

    • A journalist keen to create unique and quality content for the maritime industry, e.g. human-interest interviews and stories.
    • Expected to work independently, and turn in quality stories within time constraint.
    • You will write original content about your local region for the website. You will be expected to produce outstanding text journalism, and develop new ways of telling stories.
    • Pitch your ideas and report to the editor.

 

Qualifications

    • Journalism experience at an English news or trade publication is a must.
    • Experience in different formats of writing styles.
    • Skilled and resourceful writer.
    • Demonstrated knowledge in the maritime sector and a natural curiosity to draw insights from observing industry trends to advance news stories.
    • Knowledge of maritime security, geopolitics and trade issues in Indo-Pacific would be a plus.
    • A proven track record of working at a routinely high pace to deliver accurate, balanced industry coverage in a timely fashion.
    • Excellent communication and writing skills in English.
