MARAN Calls on Port Stakeholders to Prepare for Increased Impact in 2026

The Maritime Reporters Association of Nigeria (MARAN) is urging maritime stakeholders to rededicate themselves to enhancing the marine and blue economy as the nation approaches 2026. In a recent New Year message, Mr. Tunde Ayodele, Chairman of the MARAN Caretaker Committee, emphasized that 2026 should be viewed as a “year of greater impact.” He highlighted the importance of improved service delivery and enhanced maritime reporting to support national development efforts.

Reflecting on the collective achievements of stakeholders in the previous year, Ayodele expressed gratitude for their contributions to the growth of the maritime sector. He underscored the necessity for all involved parties to maintain a spirit of unity and collaboration moving forward. He stated, “United, we can make Nigeria proud by contributing our quota to national development, each from our own little corner.”

Ayodele reiterated MARAN’s commitment to collaborating with various organizations and institutions throughout the maritime value chain. He believes that these partnerships are vital to transforming Nigeria’s maritime industry into a space that is internationally recognized and celebrated.

He extended his appreciation for the cooperation and support the association received during 2025 and called for renewed commitment and effort in the coming year. “Thank you for your cooperation and support in 2025. Let us do it again in 2026,” he urged.

In closing, Ayodele wished members and stakeholders a happy New Year, welcoming them into what he envisions as a transformative year for the maritime industry and the country as a whole.
