Óscar Ovejero Appointed Global Head of Marine at GF Piping Systems

Óscar Ovejero has recently joined GF Piping Systems as the Global Head of Marine, leveraging his extensive 18 years of experience in sales management within the marine industry. He holds a Master’s degree in Naval Architecture and a postgraduate qualification in Ship Interior Design from the Polytechnic University of Madrid. His previous roles involved establishing a strong market presence internationally, particularly in Asia, where he fostered significant relationships with several Southeast Asian nations and China.

In his new position, Ovejero will focus on developing and executing business strategies aimed at expanding the Swiss flow solution provider’s marine business and enhancing customer engagement. Given the industry’s current transition towards sustainability, he believes GF Piping Systems is well-positioned to contribute with innovative, corrosion-resistant thermoplastic solutions, engineering capabilities, and comprehensive project support.

Ovejero’s insights will be showcased at the Asia Pacific Maritime trade fair in Singapore from March 13 to 15, 2024. This trade show is the largest of its kind in Southeast Asia, focusing on areas such as global shipbuilding and marine technology. At the event, GF Piping Systems will highlight its eco-friendly product offerings, including the COOL-FIT and HEAT-FIT systems, along with the new Butterfly Valve 565.

COOL-FIT is noted for its fully pre-insulated plastic piping, which outperforms traditional metal systems by providing 30% better insulation, being up to 60% lighter, and allowing for 50% faster installation. HEAT-FIT introduces an innovative fire-retardant solution designed for critical applications like ballast water treatment. The Butterfly Valve 565, constructed from high-quality plastics, offers a lighter alternative to metal valves, designed for easy replacement and reduced installation times while maintaining the same installation lengths.

For those interested in learning more about GF Piping Systems’ marine advancements, they can visit Ovejero at booth B-N36 in Hall B at the Singapore event.

GF Piping Systems, as part of Georg Fischer AG, has a strong dedication to customer-centric innovation and operates production facilities across multiple continents to ensure product availability and efficient delivery. In 2022, the company generated CHF 2.16 billion in sales and employed over 8,000 individuals, affirming its commitment to providing reliable, leak-free fluid transport solutions for various demanding industries.
