Times End “C” Computers Ltd. (TECC) received the Excellence in Innovation and Technology Award at the 7th Ghana Shippers Awards, 2025, recognizing its influential role in providing advanced IT solutions for Ghana’s maritime, clearing, and forwarding sectors.
The award underscores TECC’s long-term contributions to the industry, notably its involvement in a 2016 initiative to raise awareness about the global SOLAS Verified Gross Mass (VGM) regulation. Partnering with key organizations such as the Ghana Ports and Harbours Authority, the Ghana Shippers Authority, and the Ship Owners and Agents Association of Ghana, TECC facilitated educational sessions to ensure compliance with VGM standards. An important highlight was the participation of Lars Kjaer, Senior Vice President of the World Shipping Council, who joined via Skype to enhance stakeholder engagement and improve readiness for VGM implementation, thereby promoting operational safety.
TECC has also played a crucial role in fostering stakeholder collaboration, serving on the Metrology and Measurement National Technical Committee (TC17) Subcommittee on Maritime, under the Ghana Standards Authority. This involvement has propelled national standardization efforts in maritime measurements, further solidifying TECC’s commitment to the industry.
In line with its dedication to innovation, TECC plans to launch Cheemoh, a customized software solution designed to integrate weighbridges and other weighing systems directly with an organization’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems. This platform aims to improve data accuracy, enhance workflow efficiency, and allow real-time decision-making. Additionally, Cheemoh includes an optional module for clients needing automated VGM processing, reinforcing TECC’s position as a leader in technological innovation.
The Ghana Shippers Awards, hosted by Globe Productions Limited, celebrated industry excellence under the theme “Blue Ideas, Bold Moves: Innovating Ghana’s Maritime Value Chain for the Future.” In accepting the award, CEO Emmanuel Odartey expressed gratitude, stating, “This is a massive win for us all at Times End ‘C’ Computers. It will encourage us toward even greater achievements. We dedicate this to our cherished customers in the shipping sector.”
TECC’s recognition not only highlights its significant contributions to maritime technology but also emphasizes its growing impact as a reliable technology partner in enhancing the sustainability and economic growth of Ghana’s maritime value chain.
