Titagharh Wagons Secures Initial Contract with Indian Navy

Titagarh Wagons Ltd has successfully secured a significant tender from the Indian Navy to manufacture two 1000-tonne oil tankers. This contract, valued at approximately Rs 75 crore, mandates delivery within 21 months from the date of signing the agreement. The company achieved the necessary shipbuilding accreditations through the merger of its subsidiaries, Titagarh Marine and Corporated Shipyard, which enhances its capabilities in the maritime sector.

In addition to this Indian Navy project, Titagarh’s Italian subsidiary, Titagarh Firema, has also won a notable contract worth around €70 million. This contract involves the design, supply, and installation of new traction and fire protection systems for Trenitalia’s existing fleet. The completion timeline for this project extends to 55 months, showcasing Titagarh’s growing influence and efficiency in engineering and manufacturing across various sectors.

These contracts reflect Titagarh Wagons Ltd’s commitment to expanding its operational footprint in shipbuilding and enhancing technological advancements in transportation systems, further solidifying its position in the competitive market.
