The Columbia Group has launched an integrated maritime and logistics services hub named CSM Manila in the Philippines, signifying a significant expansion in the region. Located in Aseana City, Metro-Manila, CSM Manila occupies a modern 650 square meter office and is set to provide a diverse range of ship management and maritime-related services, including innovative logistics and ship performance solutions. The facility will host about 70 specialized personnel focusing on areas like technical management, crew management and training, procurement, and catering. This operation is further enhanced by the advanced Performance Optimisation Control Room technology that CSM employs.
At the inauguration, prominent figures, including Capt. Leonid Zalenski, CSM Group COO, and Capt. Faouzi Fradi, CSM Group Director of Crewing and Training, highlighted the hub’s commitment to enhancing the well-being and development of seafarers. Capt. Fradi emphasized, “We know that when employees are happy, the crew on board ship performs at its best, and clients are extremely satisfied.” Capt. Zalenski noted that these new offices would ensure that CSM Manila and Senator Crewing could meet the high service demands of the maritime market.
In tandem with CSM Manila, Senator Crewing—Columbia’s manning agency with over three decades of history in Manila—has also relocated to a larger office nearby, now spanning 1,070 square meters and accommodating 66 employees. This move extends the reach and capabilities of CSM’s services within the Philippines considerably.
Columbia Group is keenly aware of the contemporary demands of the maritime industry, especially in light of rapid digitalization. To further reinforce their commitment to the training and development of seafarers, CSM has partnered exclusively with the Nautilus Pacific Training Centre in Manila. This partnership aims to train up to 5,000 seafarers annually with cutting-edge programs. The training center is distinguished for its advanced simulators, including full mission bridge simulators equipped with Wärtsilä technology, liquid cargo handling systems, and the first survival craft simulator in the Philippines.
Moreover, CSM has incorporated its own Hologram Technology into the Nautilus Training Centre to facilitate remote, high-tech training sessions. This modernized training environment will equip CSM seafarers with the necessary skills and knowledge to ensure the safe operation and management of vessels worldwide.
