Pyeongtaek Port Authority Conducts Maritime Disaster Response Drill at Jebu Marina on the 26th

On March 26, the Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority conducted a maritime disaster response drill at Jebu Marina, aimed at ensuring the safety of residents as the peak spring marine leisure season approaches. This drill was a collaborative effort involving the Pyeongtaek Maritime Police Rescue Team and the Hwaseong Fire Station Rescue Team, focusing on enhancing cooperation among various agencies and improving on-site response capabilities for potential maritime accidents.

Key components of the drill included real-life rescue operations, first aid and patient transport, activation of emergency reporting systems, and equipment upgrades. Kim Geumgyu, the Acting President of the Gyeonggi Pyeongtaek Port Authority, expressed confidence that the drill would lay a solid foundation for a safe marina environment. He emphasized the ongoing commitment to fostering a collaborative network with relevant organizations to ensure that Jebu Marina remains a secure and enjoyable destination for visitors.

Jebu Marina is recognized as the largest marina facility in Gyeonggi Province, having opened in June 2021. It features 176 berths on water and 124 berths on land, totaling 300 berths, underscoring its capacity to accommodate various marine activities.

This exercise highlighted the importance of preparedness in maritime operations and served as a proactive measure to ensure that both residents and visitors can enjoy the marine environment with peace of mind.
