DB Schenker has inaugurated its third Schenker Logistics Centre (SLC) in Bhiwandi, marking the establishment of one of the largest logistics hubs in the region. The center spans approximately 200,000 square feet and aims to deliver integrated logistics solutions for businesses operating in various sectors, including baby care, mother care, fire protection, camera accessories, and bathroom fittings.
Strategically situated just 3 kilometers from the Mumbai-Nashik Highway and 60 kilometers away from both the Jawaharlal Nehru Port Trust (JNPT) and the Mumbai-Ahmedabad Highway (NH-8), the SLC provides essential logistical support. The facility is equipped with advanced material handling equipment, such as reach trucks, stackers, and forklifts, enhancing operational efficiency. Additionally, the warehouse features impressive heights—30 feet on the sides and 38 feet at the center—along with turbo ventilators and louvers for optimal air circulation. It also has three-phase electricity connectivity, ensuring reliability in power supply.
A significant advantage of the Bhiwandi SLC is its proximity to a proposed dedicated freight corridor, located merely 0.5 kilometers away. This corridor is planned to connect the JNPT port with states extending into northern India, including Uttar Pradesh, Gujarat, Rajasthan, and Haryana.
